Philip A. D’Agati is an expert on the use of sports in international relations and nationalism, international organizations, and the role of international sport in Asia. He received an MA in Comparative Politics & Public Administration, an MA in World History, and a PhD in Political Science from Northeastern University and currently teaches Political Science at his alma mater. He is the author of three books, has conducted sports-focused field research in five countries on three continents and has consulted on bids to host the Olympics. His current research is on decisions to host the Olympics from a political, sustainability and legacy perspective. His focus is on how Olympic hosts utilize their role as host to create a lasting impact on their community. D’Agati is a member of the American Historical Association, the American Political Science Association, and serves on the advisory board of the National Council on US-Arab Relations.
Philip’s professional career focuses on program management and community engagement roles. He has 15+ years of experience across nonprofit, government, and higher education sectors, specializing in building programs that scale, cultivating strong partnerships, and mobilizing resources to create meaningful impact. His career has centered on advancing equity, resilience, and mission-driven service from higher education to public affairs to non-profit organizations.
In his local community, Philip is a member and leader of local volunteer organizations and his parish. He is currently serving as a District Deputy in the Knights of Columbus, and as the director of the Bell Choir and the head of the Liturgical Art/Environment Ministry at St. Augustine Parish. He is the member of several organizations and ministries in Andover and North Andover.
